Today, I want to blog, but it is going to be more on life. I know I have had a couple of these types of posts lately, but I have so much going on in my life. I really enjoy blogging and I am bummed that so much has been going on that I don't have as much time to blog as I would like. Well, being a stay-at-home mom who just moved to a new house and is active in her church will keep a woman busy.
Today was the very first day of our Vacation Bible School! I am the director this year, so I have a lot on my plate. In past years I wasn't involved in VBS at all, I didn't have the time while I was working. Last summer He started leading me in the direction of leadership. I stepped up and we did the planning. I knew today would be the bumpiest day of all of them. This would be the day we find out what works, and what doesn't.
To my surprise, today went fantastically! The volunteers had a great day, I think the kids loved it, and I wasn't running around like a chicken with my head cut off. It was wonderful! I had visions of people pulling me in every direction with all these questions of things I had never even thought about and tech problems, and all that fun stuff. We had what tried to be a tech problem, but it was cured with a simple restart of my husband's laptop (we are using that this week at VBS).
I am so glad that I can report that today was a good day. It makes me so happy to say that. I think everyone that is helping me this week has really grabbed a hold of my mantra for the week. Make it your own! I have given my great volunteers the tools they need for the week, now they can make this week their week. They will enjoy themselves and love the ministry they are doing for the kids. This week is ultimately about God. I have had people say this week is about the kids, but it is about teaching the kids about Him. If we love what we are doing, it is going to be His love shining.
I have been uplifted today, I just hope it continues. I have one day of VBS down, and we have 4 more to go. Then we get a small break before the big VBS BBQ we are having after church Sunday.
Until next time...Happy Living!

Lynifer's Diaper Insert Giveaway! ~CLOSED!~
I know this has been a long awaited post. I have wanted to post this for weeks now, but life has kept me from it. Well, now here you go!
The time has come for my very first giveaway. I am super excited for this one for many reasons. One, it's the first giveaway for my blog. Second, these items were made by Me. I have a small little in home venture where I sew all kinds of things. I call my venture Lynifer. Now, seeing as I am the one that made these inserts, having me review them, wouldn't be right. I had two wonderful mommas test two different styles of my inserts. Now for the reviews given by the testers...
I love Lynifer's cloth diaper inserts! My favorite is the contoured insert because it is so absorbent and is super soft. It fits perfectly inside my Bum Genius 3.0's! The insert washes up very nicely and it is my "go to" insert for nap and nighttime diapers. Thanks!
These cloth diaper inserts are the best I could have hoped for! I am a big fan of her contoured design that I slip inside my MotherEase diapers. They are obsorbent and soft without being too bulky. Lyn has hit the mark with this design that washes just as nicely as it wears. I've had them for months and they still look great!
About Lynifer's Inserts: Each insert is made from a total of 5 layers. The top layer is soft flannel. There are two inner layers of microfiber terry, and then there are two layers of cotton. Liquid tests that I did showed that these inserts could hold up to 7 ounces of liquid.
Buy It: These diaper inserts can be purchased through Lynifer's website for $2.50 each.
Win It: I am giving one winner a set of my diaper inserts. One winner will receive a straight cut insert and a contoured insert as well.
Mandatory Entry: Okay, so right now my blog's name is just Lynifer's blog. I am thinking of changing this to a more catchy or fun name. For the mandatory entry, I would love for you to either give me an idea for my blog's new name, or tell me your favorite blog title/name. One name idea that has been thrown around has been Sew Thrifty Lynifer, as an idea of where I might be going with the name and theme. If you cannot think of a blog title, feel free to name your favorite diaper.

I won!
Well, it doesn't happen often since I don't enter as many give-aways as I used to, but I won! Thanks to Dee over at Two of Kind, working on a full house, I just won a Sansbug III. If you don't know what that is, well check out the link to the contest page...here. Dee gave such a great review of this product. One, yes it was glowing, but two it is just a well put together review. After I read the review I knew that this would be a perfect addition to our backyard, or anywhere, for our growing family. I found out this morning that she has sent my information to the company. I can't wait to get the Sansbug in the mail and test it out. I will try to make sure that I pass along all the great information. :)
Until nest time... Happy Day!

Finally back online
Well, I am happy to say that I am finally back online. As many of you may know, we are in the process of moving. Hubby took off all week to move us. Well, we moved the beds Tuesday so we have been living in the house since then.
I called the phone company to confirm when they would be moving our phone and internet. The answer I got was Thursday. That was it. Well, Wednesday morning comes around and my mom lets me know that she tried dialling our house number to find it had already been disconnected. Yes, they disconnected us Wednesday morning. So then on Thursday I begin trying the house number every so often, hoping to get things up and running so I can check mail and update everyone on here. I got a dial tone mid morning, but it would not ring through to the house. I thought this was a bit weird. It wasn't until almost 3 in the afternoon that we get a knock on our door and it is the phone guy here to make sure he has the info right to connect the phone for the house and then come back for the internet.
2 hours later...we finally had some sort of internet. Well, by this time it is time for our weekly Chinese dinner with friends. We get home and guess what, no internet. Of course. Oh, and I forgot to mention, when I was able to get online before dinner I had 170 new emails waiting for me. Once I was done with my freecycle emails (which I mostly just deleted since they were older ones) I still have like 60 new emails to go through.
I know now that I have 60 some emails and again I am without internet. How can I be a blogger mom without internet? I am not spiffy enough right now to have an awesome phone with internet on it. That just isn't in our budget. :)
Finally mid afternoon hubby turned off the computer and everything internet related for about half and hour to reset things hoping it would work. It did! Finally we have internet and I can catch up on my emails and update all of you.
That makes me happy. It is funny how for so many years there was no such thing as the internet, and now so often if you have to go without the interwebs as we call them around here it feels like you are so out of the loop. I find it funny.
Anyway, I hope everyone is doing well. We finally have our old house empty and we just have to clean it and get it ready for an open house. Things are moving right along.
I hope to be on here much more, but with Peanut making me take more naps than I normally would (like any at all) I don't have as much time to blog since I can only really do that with LJ napping.
Things are interesing around here to say the least.
Until next time... stay cool!

Happy 4th (a day late) and much more!
Hello all! I know that today is the 5th of July, but I hope everyone had a great 4th. We have had quite the weekend for the 4th festivities which didn't end until today. Yesterday we had a picnic at Hubby's Nan's house. Then today we had a tractor parade and picnic at the other grandparents' house. Of course we had to leave early from both picnics as LJ was super tired. The heat here has been terrible, and it is just going to get worse. last evening the five day forecast for our local weather had two days at 100 with a heat index of 105 or more. I know in some places, that can be normal, but not here.
So, here is one big reason I am focusing on the weather. Hubby took off this week so we can move. Last Monday we had settlement on a "new" house. It is new to us, though it is close to 160 years old. it is much like the house Hubby grew up in. We love it and we are super close to his parents too. So, for us, it just figures that one of the hottest weeks (most likely record breaking) is the week that we will be trying to move everything from one house to another.
To top this all off, I cannot help Hubby move as much as I would like. Why? Well, I can now spill the beans....We are expecting! We weren't thinking of going for baby two so soon and with moving, but that is just how He has planned things for us.
This of course means, I cannot lift as much as normal. So, we have enlisted the help of one of Hubby's cousins who just graduated high school. So, I know I have been absent, and it may continue a little longer, but now you know why. We have a lot of things going right now, and I just cannot always fit in the time to blog. I promise though that the give-away that is closing my series will be up shortly. Thank you all for staying with me as things go a little nuts.
Have a great week and I hope to be back very soon!
